Why It was Established (the reasons of establishing Al-Majd Kindergarten)

Al- Majd Kindergarten which is a part of SCCS was established since 1980 to fulfill the needs of the children of Old Town inhabitants in Nablus and the near neighbourhoods for the following justifications:

- The high rates of poverty (50%) and unemployment (29%) in the Old Town neighborhoods.

- The over crowdedness in the Old Town neighborhoods.

- Most of the inhabitants of the Old Town of Nablus (that reaches up to 45 thousand people) are of the poor and the law income and education people.

-  The high number of family members that reaches to 7 members for most of the Old Town families.

- Roads , streets & alleys are the substitute places for public gardens & parks.

-All of these facts reduce the chance that the children of the Old Town may have to acquire education and exercise physical activities in an appropriate, safe, healthy and supportive environment.

- Family has no or less role in the upraising of their children in the shades of poverty and unemployment and the low education level which leads to their inability to send their children to schools, child labor and violence.

From here the role of Al-Majd Kindergarten appears that offers its services for simple fees and 20% of children who has special conditions are exempted.
