The Social Charitable Center Society (SCCS) was established in 1978 in Nablus, the second largest city in the West Bank. It was founded by a group of people in order to provide support, humanitarian and social services for the poor and the needy. The SCCS’ support focuses on marginalized women and children in Nablus. The SCCS has its roots in the old neighborhood of city specifically, which is where the poorest people live.
The SCCS provides health related, social and educational services to women and children in need. It also offers cultural and rehabilitation focused activities. In addition to that, SCCS also supports the kindergarten targeting kids under the age of six, which provides educational services due to application of symbolic fees only. Adding to this, There is Mabarret Al-Khair Kitchen Charity which is a part of the Social Charitable Center Society (SCCS) and which has been established in April, 2015. It aims at feeding the poor and needy people especially in the Old Town of Nablus by providing free meals prepared by skilful chefs according to a systematic program in order to feed the utmost number of the poor and needy people.
The SCCS seeks to expand the area of community services for the marginalized segments of society, especially women, through the implementation of projects facilitating cultural, social and economic development.
The SCCS is registered with the official authorities and has an accurate & transparent accounting system, which is overseen by an external auditor submitting periodical reports. The SCCS’ Board of Trustees develops new policies for the association and oversees the corresponding application. The Director is responsible to present periodic reports on the progress of work to the Board of Trustees.
